« UMPCs in the Spotlight at CES PreviewMain  | Samsung Q1 for $579! »

- Warner Crocker

thomasineeepc The Asus Eee PC has certainly captured a lot of attention for its small size and low price of $399. Is it the mobile solution for its target market of young people and non-power users, who just need to send out an email, or create a quick document? Time will certainly tell, but in this GBM InkShow, I put the Asus Eee PC in the hands of my wife, Thomasin Savaiano, who is admittedly not a power user or a geek, and sits squarely in the audience that Asus is trying to reach.

In this first, in what I hope will be a series of reports as she gets to know the Eee PC, I basically place the device in front of her and watch as she discovers some of its capabilities and how they might mesh with how she normally works. Her honest responses are quite telling so far, and I'm anxious to see how they may or may not change over the next period of time. So, if you're interested in this device, or know someone in your family who might be, sit back, relax, and enjoy the tour.
