Toshiba Portege M700 Tablet PCOver the last week I had the pleasure of having the new Toshiba M700 Tablet PC.  In the past I have owned 2 Toshiba Tablet PC's.  My first Tablet PC was the Toshiba M4, I purchased that because of the dedicated graphics card of 128 meg, it was the best on the block back then.  The next Toshiba I owned was the M400 - another powerhouse but without the dedicated graphics.  I was very happy with the M400 and would probably have it still today if it wasn't for the long term eval I currently use.  I'd like to give Toshiba a big thanks for sending us this unit for our hands on look and review!

The Toshiba M700 Tablet PC keeps that 'powerhouse' feeling alive.  With the ability to have up to a 2.6 Core 2 Duo processor, this thing will scream!  The only thing missing is the dedicated graphics card, but that isn't common in any Tablet PC these days...  Join me as I take in the M700 in this InkShow.  I first start out by looking over the outside of the unit, then the keyboard and scree, the latch/swivel mechanism and then look at the screen and the inking.

Enjoy the 26 minute look at the Toshiba M700 Tablet PC with me in 2 different ways

One of the main things we wanted to see at CES this year was the new Toshiba R400 Tablet PC.  Today we got that chance in multiples!  In this two part GottaBeMobile InkShow, we were able to get our hands on this new piece of hardware for a quick on the floor look and walkaround, plus got a full demonstration by Kevin Roberts, the product manager at Toshiba responsible for this machine.

This machine felt good in your hands.   With the white and black color scheme and the shiny and well built chassis, this machine definitely qualifies in my mind for inclusion into the category of "Sexy Hardware".  A new hinging mechanism, and many other features round out a nicely thought out unit aimed at the mobile professional.

You also don't want to miss the detailed look at the new wireless docking solution with Kevin.

This machine will be available for order on 1/28/07, and will start at $2,599.  To get the full specs, options, etc., head over to the Toshiba web site.

Our thanks to Toshiba for the chance to take a look at this hardware!

One of the good things about being 4 years out from the Tablet PC launch is that there are  plenty of choices in regards to sizes and form factors. For those who desire a large screen Tablet PC, one of the choices that should to be on your short list is the Toshiba Tecra M7 Tablet PC. At 14", Core Duo, and sporting a widescreen display, it offers a lot of punch and plenty of writing space. We take a look at the M7 in this Hardware InkShow to help you along in the decision process. We even answer that often asked question: "What is that silver ring that comes in the pen box?"

Special thanks to Allegiance Technology Partners for supplying us this review unit. If you would like to review the M7 for yourself or purchase one, contact John Hill at Allegiance Technology Partners.

M400I got my first good look at the Toshiba M400 convertible Tablet PC in January at CES in Las Vegas.  At that time, it had not been officially released.  There was quite the clamor to get information on the machine.  Rob and I had a chance to spend sopme time playing with it, and even demoing it to people at the Toshiba booth, since there was very little knowledge about tablet PC’s in general there.  To be honest, I had forgotten what a nice experience it was until I got my hands on one for a while that I could really put through it’s paces.  This is a great piece of hardware folks.  It has all the good things that I have enjoyed in my M200 for 2 1/2 years now, plus all the updated goodies like a Core Duo processor.

In this GottaBeMobile.com InkShow review, I spent a lot of time going over the details of the machine itself, plus did some comparison to my M200, which has been my primary Tablet PC for a while.  What did I find?  Check out the InkShow to find out!  :-)

Once again our special thanks go out to Mr. John Hill at Allegiance Technology Partners for providing the hardware. Please check out their site for all your Tablet and Ultra Mobile PC needs. We need them to continue to send us hardware for review, and your patronage will help that! They also offer a 48 hour Tablet PC demo for only the cost of the freight!  Great for making that final tablet purchase decision.

Starting price: $1,899 (Core Solo Processor), with many accessories including internal optical drive. Configured price on this evaluation unit: $2,163.99.

Let us know what you think and comment with your questions!

Enjoy!
