Lenovo IdeaPad U110 Coming Our Way

- Rob Bushway

Lenovo U110 IdeaPad Heads up - Lenovo is sending us one of the highly anticipated 11" U110 IdeaPads to review. I'm not sure if we'll get the red or the black, but either way, I'm really looking forward to reviewing the U110.

As soon as it gets in our hot little hands, I'll post up some initial video and impressions. What do you want to know about it?

Hey Rob,
I want to know everything! Seriously -- I haven't been this excited about an ultraportable in a loooong time.

My main questions are about performance and sound. How well does it handle big video files and how what are your experience of the speakers (in terms of sound quality and gain)? I teach film studies and I often rely on an ultaportable for prepping lectures. I'd love to hear about your experience of it as an multi-media performer.

I'm in the market. I will need to buy something within a month or two. I'm not sure exactly what I really want - UMPC, TabletPC, small laptop? I'm starting to lean towards just a small size laptop. I'll be reading GBM daily till I make my purchase.

After experiencing X41T performance, never again will I do a 4200rpm drive. Now, if this thing had SDD... :-)

Seriously though, tempting as it is, I'm not ready to give up my ink yet, especially with apps like Inkseine on the horizon.

Odd, but on the Lenovo web site it lists a 120gb 5400rpm drive for the black, while the red gets a 120gb 4200rpm drive.
