DualCor cPC details starting to emerge

- Rob Bushway

I was just checking out the DualCor website and noticed that they have provided some really good details on the DualCor cPC, with complete specs. Once of the things I noticed in the specs is that it says “Origami UI option”. The other interesting thing is that the cPC appears to be running the Via 1.5 ghz processor on the Tablet side of the device.

Time to start calling the cPC an Ultra Mobile PC / Origami? I think so…It has everything the eo and other Origami’s have, plus it has built-in phone connectivity.

When can I order one?

Exactly. When can I order one? Specifically with quad band GSM/EDGE/UMTS support, so I can drop a t-mobile/cingular/some other world carrier chip in, and not have to wait on sprint/verizon to get around to it.

I can only hope that they are watching what is happening in the marketplace with other Origami devices. Surely, with the Eo selling out their initial orders so quickly, the folks at DualCor must be at least CONSIDERING offering their cPC to the non-enterprise market. I would imagine the orders would fly off the shelves.

I am trying to come up the learning curve on these devices. The Dual-cor had really caught my eye as well. I don't know however, what it means when you say "Origami UI option" - what does that mean? Thanks.

What this tells me is that Microsoft has officially recognized it as an Origami device and will be shipping it with the Touch Pack software as an optional add-on - it'll likely have additional licensing costs associated with that designation.

I do find it interesting that they refer to it as "Origami UI Option". Could that be what Microsoft starts licensing this stuff as?
