HP UMPC 2133 Coming April 7?

- Sierra Modro

HP 2133 The folks over at Engadget have reportedly gotten a hold of more complete specs for the upcoming HP UMPC 2133. Many of the rumors have been "confirmed" by this information, including the VIA C7-M processor and, more surprisingly, an option for SuSE Linux installed.

With prices listed from $549 - $849, there's a pretty large range of affordability. The $849 version may be an anomaly - it's listed as "Regional" and at a price higher than the Vista Business model with more RAM.

Possibly hitting the market on April 7th.

Price sheet and specs after the Read More.

Yeah, it looks like the dimensions and weight are for the shipping box, not the 2133 itself. At 13x8.5x5 I wouldn't call it a UMPC either. :-)

5 pounds, no thank you.

if it is the box, what is making it so heavy? the power supply?!

still no new umpc with an active digitizer and at that price

It looks like a small screen in a 12" body...

A Via CPU and a 3-cell battery? This is the kind of low-end hardware that Everex sells for $399. And HP wants $549 for this?

The dimensions and weight must be for the shipping box. My 14" widescreen is right around that width and weight and it certainly is not 5" thick.

Where is the touch screen? No touch screen... then it's a Subnotebook.

The rumored weight of the 2133 itself is only 2.5 lbs or so. That seems about right for the size of device. It seems to be about the same size as the Fujitsu P1610/1620 - same screen size.

No DVD ROM?
How can we install softwares and watch movies?
