Firefox Mobile On Video

- Warner Crocker

With Firefox 3.0 scheduled to be released on June 17 there is also word (and video) of what’s cooking with Firefox Mobile. Note that it is being designed for touch screens, but not for multi-touch. The thinking there is that multi-touch isn’t yet popular enough and that touch is the lowest common denominator. This will certainly be an interesting development and what you can find at this link is still listed as being in the concept stages.

I find this very interesting, but the screen size seemed bigger than my AT&T 8525 would support, which is where I would be interested in using the technology. I am also looking forward to seeing the full capabilities of the next version of Opera mobile. I prefer a self contained browser that can render pages on a small screen as opposed to a service that I send my calls to and they render for me.
