Each time we sit down and plan out all the great material we can cover and the work it takes to cover it, we get both excited and intimidated at the same time!

Well this time when Rob and I had a discussion on what to do for our next expansion, we decided we “GottaGoDownUnder” and head to the land of the “roos” and “barbies” in search of a good “bloke” to be our new “mate”!

So who will be the next one to wear the coveted GottaBeMobile team member shirt?

The whole GottaBeMobile team is excited to announce that Hugo Ortega, the prolific blogger, video producer, and Tablet PC evangelist of the UberTablet blog is joining us an official member of Team GottaBeMobile!

If you don’t know Hugo by now, you should! By adding Hugo to the GottaBeMobile team, we’re expanding our Mobile PC coverage to provide a unique Australian perspective by recruiting our first international team member! There are few people in the Tablet PC / Ultra Mobile PC space as energetic and passionate as Hugo. His passion for the ultra mobile platform is evident in his writing, and in the video reviews that he produces. This passion has resulted in a great following of readers, plus his being awarded the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award this past year (this makes four MVP’s on Team GottaBeMobile!). Hugo manages to get himself into some interesting places and his hands on some interesting devices, so we are excited to see him start to share those on GottaBeMobile. Here is a blurb from his about page on his blog explaining who Hugo is:

“Hugo Ortega is one very misguided geek. Knowing that Tablet PC take up in Australia has been very unimpressive, to say the least, he has single-mindedly begun preaching to anyone, willing or unwilling to listen, to the merits of Tablet PC.”

And preach he does! He’ll be producing InkShows, as well as reporting news periodically on Mobile PC happenings in Australia and around the globe, plus hanging out a bit in the forums. You can expect Hugo’s first InkShow in May. In addition to providing news and video coverage for GottaBeMobile, Hugo will also continue writing and producing videos at his UberTablet blog. He’s gonna be a busy guy.

Get ready to enjoy a whole new lingo experience as he joins us, and wish him a “G’day Mate”. Or is it “Gidday Mate”? I can’t wait to get caught up on all the lingo!
