Rob Gets Interviewed By the Colorado Springs Gazette

- Warner Crocker

RobCool. Congratulations to Rob Bushway. The Colorado Springs Gazette did an interview with our intrepid leader here at GBM and it has just been published. In the interview Rob talks about the Microsoft MVP program, Rob's web design business, Rob’s forecast’s for the future in Mobile computing, and of course what’s going on at GottaBeMobile.com. There’s even a list of what Rob’s carrying in his gadget bag.

Head over to the Gazette to check out the interview and give Rob a shout out for the well deserved recognition.

Great interview. Interesting take by Rob that Desktop PCs will eventually vanish. I think that this is true to a point but think it is likely the traditional form of the desktop will become less common but we may see a shift towards home server style solutions where you store all your photos, video and music and network other devices with it.

Well done on the additional exposure Rob, sure it will mean a few more local readers of GBM!

Focus on the Family and their view of homosexuals makes me sick.

This is great news of Rob and GBM. I'm in Colorado Springs but I don't get the Gazette; glad Warner blogged about it or I would have missed it. Congratulations.

Congrats Rob,

I noticed that you are working on ways to ink notes for a windows bible. Have you used Laridian's Pocket Bible programs at all? I have used them for several years and their new PB for Windows is a great program. I can ink notes through Vista but would like to see it improved. Just wondering if you were familiar with their stuff?

I'm familiar with Laridian, but didn't know they had supported ink notetaking. Can you send me some info on that?

While I think mobile devices will continue to gain market share at the expense of desktops, the thing desktops offer is they are less expensive for similar or even better performance, and they are more upgradeable. I would estimate the avg life span of a notebook in my usage is about 2-3 years, the desktop can last for 5 or so, both seeing upgrades to memory, disk, etc. Desktops can also be upgraded easier with video.

Great article though - thanks Rob.
