Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet PC commercial

- Rob Bushway

I’m sitting here watching 24 on Fox and I just saw the coolest Tablet PC commercial featuring the Lenovo X41 Tablet PC . What is really cool about it was there was ink dripping all over the place – almost looked like oil . Honest – the coolest tablet pc commercial I’ve ever seen.

I’m recording the show on my media center – if I can figure out how to capture the video and post the commercial, I will.

Update: ok...I've figured out to get the commercial...it'll be a couple of hours before I can post it...keep checking back...it is that cool of a commerical.

Here they are - you have got to watch these:

I've always thought it cool that tablets are so visible in that show. Tonight, for example, one of the women in the containment room with Jack was using a TC1100. It's been that way since the shows start.

Thanks for posting these! Loved the commercial and just linked to the videos on my blog: http://thinkingonthemargin.blogspot.com/

I'm a PhD student and been thinking about getting the X41 Tablet for school. Saw one down at EPCOT over Christmas break and was very impressed! Now if I could only justify spending the money...

How much did that rock! Made me grab my X41 and post this comment...had to watch out for all the dripping ink though. LOL.

Thanks for posting this Rob!

There was another tablet being used during CSI Miami (my wife's show but she always falls asleep and I have to tell her what happened!). I couldn't read the brand, but it was some kind of rugged looking slate. They had it attached to a kind of metal detector, but for bodies.

The "graphic artist" on the show Bones also uses a tablet, albeit in a totally unrealistic way. She taps a few times and creates a 3D holographic representation of a murder scene and it is projected over a table in a dark room Star Wars rebel-style. Cool though!

I like the concept of the entire tablet itself being made out of ink, furthering the idea of ink as a pervasive full-fledged data type throughout the OS.

Thanks for posting the video!

Very cool, thanks for posting Rob. I found it while watching some recorded Seinfeld but I wanted to send it to my friend and sending a 800MB Seinfeld episode was too much.

Hope this sells a bunch of Tablet PC's.

That's such a crafty commercial. It'll get attention towards the market for sure. Most commercials that don't actually show what the unit can do will create the drive to find out.
What did you use to capture the video? You must have Tivo or a graphics card with video in.

Bhaltair:

I have a Media Center - I pulled the file from the MCE, edited it, then converted it into a .wmv
