GBM Hardware Inkshow: The TabletKiosk eo i7210 and The Samsung Q1 SSD Head 2 Head

- Warner Crocker

Samsung_smallIt isn’t often that we get to hear about two Ultra-Mobile PCs side by side but here’s your chance to check out a comparison of two intriguing entries into the UMPC market. While on a secret GottaBeMobile mission, Dennis Rice and Warner Crocker take a few moments out of their sleuthing time to sit down and compare the TableKiosk Eoi7210eo i7210 and the Samsung Q1 SSD. They discuss the feature sets of both Ultra-Mobile PCs and their likes and dislikes in this GottaBeMobile.com InkShow. (How about that Q1 SSD price? Is the performance boost worth it?)

We’d like to give a big shoutout to iCube for loaning us the Samsung Q1 SSD to evaluate and stay tuned this week to find out more about the GBM Secret Mission.

Let us know what you think and comment with your questions!

Enjoy!

Thanks guys! Nice comparison review. Only correction I have is that the Q1 does have cursor control using the joystick. If you hold the menu button down the joystick will move the cursor across the screen. It is not as nice as a mouse pointer but it is very functional and I use it often. Also, if you hold the menu button down and press the resolution button it acts as a left mouse click. I have also programmed two of the user definable buttons to left and right mouse clicks.
Can't wait to see what the big secret is!

Thanks for that correction Helmut! You are correct.

I had actually heard that before and tried to use it, but it was a bit awkward for me personally. There are so many great features on both units, but alas, at least IMHO neither one is really hitting the mark for me yet, but we are still really early in the product cycles! I can't wait to see the next round coming out of UMPC's!
