Good Podcast, but the more I hear about the desire for an interface that's been designed from the ground up around touch and ink, the more I hope you guys DON'T get your wish! You see, from my standpoint, finding a middle ground makes more sense. Yes, touch can be great, inking is great, but you know, keyboards have their place too. Which means, I want a unit, similar to the ones we have now, where the keyboard and mouse aren't second class citizens (which, building an OS that focuses on ink and touch may well result in). Finding a middle ground, where both work beautifully, seems like a more worthy goal...and that seems like the path Microsoft is on. Each iteration of the tablet bits has gotten better...sure, the Snipping Tool was a small step back, but we all use Snagit anyway, right (: If you want an entertainment device, like an iPhone or iTouch, that's one thing. But a computer that's geared to be a generalist -- from spreadsheets to note taking to artwork, well, I think you may want something designed to be applicable to both. My first tablet was the long lamented TC100, and taking off the keyboard was sweet, but I almost always had it with me, just in case I wanted to do some text-intensive work. Be careful what you wish for (:
