FolderShare Gets an Update

- Matt Faulkner

foldershare If you are using FolderShare, you might want to check out the new update.  And, If you haven't been using FolderShare, and you need to keep all your computers in sync, you might want to check out this link

The updates include:

  • A new website designed to makes managing your FolderShare libraries and computers even easier.
  • A new FolderShare with a better setup, a better system tray menu, and better performance on Windows Vista.
  • Improvements on the backend to keep FolderShare running more smoothly and reliably.

Maybe with better performance under Vista, it might be time to try this again...  it might be a little easier than using SkyDrive the way I use it.

I don't know what problem you had under Vista, but except for one or two frustrating day-long outages, FolderShare has worked flawlessly for me for the past two years -- on both Vista and XP machines. It's an unbelievably easy-to-set-up service that basically "just works." Considering that it's free, I honestly don't understand why it isn't better known and more widely used.

It never worked for me and I uninstalled it from both computers I was trying to keep in sync. I guess I'll try it again.

I've been using FolderShare for a while. I just tried to install the .msi file that I downloaded from their site, but it says it's not a valid installation package for FolderShare.

Well...as all the comments are their new blog say, it's broken. I installed the new update and it just crashes every time I try and run it. I'm looking for the old installer I had to put the older version back on. What a huge disappointment.

Sorry everyone. I'm obviously having trouble typing today. The link still works though.

Nice! It works like a charm for me now. that renders my $36 Belkin USB transfer cable utterly useless. :(
