GBM InkShow: Bluebeam PDF Revu 6.2

- Rob Bushway

InkShow_4It has been a while since we've done an InkShow on Bluebeam's PDF Revu, but with their recent release of version 6.2, we thought it was a perfect time to do a refresh and take a look at what has changed from version 5 to 6.

In this InkShow, I go over many of the new features, as well as showing why PDF Revu is seen as the standard bearer in PDF annotating. Granted, I ran in to a few issues like inconsistent treatment of Vista TIP and Bluebeam's own TIP, but overall, I'd say that version 6.2 is a winner and it will continue to be my application of choice for annotating PDFs.

Bluebeam PDF Revu is available for $149.

For a student it's available for 30 USD which is a breeze for such a powerful software.

I agree with you. I reviewed a lot of the popular software when making a decision for my tablet and did Bluebeam. A bit more expensive but a great piece of software. Has never let me down.

Rob,
You demo'ed the paperclip option that allowed a jpeg to be hiddenly attached to the PDF document. Does that feature for the receiver of your document need Bluebeam Revu to view that hidden jpeg? Will any receiver even those using Adobe Reader be able to view that feature?

Nice demo of the new features!

I just tried opening an embedded attachment from adobe reader 8.1 and it worked, so it doesn't appear to be limited to users of bluebeam - it is a very nice feature.

thanks, but I use onenote and am happy with it, so what is the selling point of it over MS onenote?

Bluebeam is PDF annotating software so you can sign PDF's, etc and send them back to people as PDF. OneNote is notetaking software. Totally different work scenarios being solved. I use both.
