Get More Space In Outlook

- Rob Bushway

clip_image004_thumb Those of us using 800 x 480 displays in a Ultra-Mobile PC long for ways to squeeze more out from  such a challenging space.

The Microsoft Outlook Team blog has a good tip: minimize the To-do and Navigation Pane. This is something I do quite frequently when using Outlook in my OQO Model 02 and Samsung Q1P.

Great tip -- I've been doing that a while myself on my OQO model 02. Something else that works well -- minimize the ribbon on the tops of most forms in Outlook 2007. You can do this by double-clicking on any of the ribbon's titles (like "Format" or "Insert"). Whenever you want the ribbon back, you simply click once on a title to expand it temporarily, or double-click to restore it permanently. This makes a huge difference for contacts and appointments in particular for Outlook 2007 users, and in Excel 2007, PowerPoint 2007, and Word 2007. Still, sometimes you have to "zoom out" to use the form, especially in contact forms, and then the interpolated UI modes on the OQO make a huge difference.

Thanks for a great site ...
