HID Drivers Now Available for Samsung Q1's Running Vista

- Warner Crocker

Frank Garcia (CTitanic) is the guy I’m going to call if I need a problem solved. When he gets on a mission he is relentless. This mission? Get HID drivers for the Samsung Q1 to be able to run Vista. It looks like he has succeeded. He’s been working with eGalax (EETI) beta testing a new driver, (curiously eGalax never had a unit to test on) and Frank is trumpeting the news on Ultra-Mobile PC Tips. You can head there and download the drivers. Frank recommends strongly that you read the Readme.txt file, and also cautions that this is being made available “as is.”

Thanks warner!
Oh, one important note. I got a confirmation that the driver works in XP units too!

The short cut included in my zip file does not work in that OS. Intead you have to create your own short cut pointing to

tabcal.exe lincal novalidate

The advantage on XP is going to be in the handwriting quality and few others things relative with the way a real Tablet PC works. So I do recommend XP users to install this driver too.
