HP Connecting Your World - Next Week!

- Sierra Modro

Sierra Modro I'm heading off to Berlin next week to the HP Connecting Your World event! Connecting Your World is the premier HP event where HP execs discuss new products and product strategy.

I'm looking forward to hearing about the upcoming products (and hopefully seeing some!) while I'm in Berlin. HP is also giving me the opportunity to speak with HP executives about the current and planned products.

If you have questions for HP, this is a good time to ask them! The event is June 10-11, so get me your questions this weekend and I'll see what I can learn. I plan to live post as much as possible while I'm at the event. Expect to see news next week coming straight from Berlin!

Maybe I'll even see some of my fellow bloggers...

Sierra,
When you talk to HP you might ask them why their commitment to customer support/service is so poor?, and what concrete steps they have taken to change that?, and what they plan to do in the future to continue to improve their worst-in-class commitment to the people who have already spent money/invested in their hardware? I really apreciate that you would be willing to throw a few hardballs at them. But the people on the HP forum who have outstanding service issues will apreciate it more, if it gets them some action...

Ah! This must be the event at which the TX2500 will be formally announced.

Can you ask when it will be available at retail?

Paul

ps: I concur about the customer service point. The issue is not that none of HP does good customer service -- I have had some great service from the printer division over the years -- but that many portions don't.

Awesome that you're going. Have a safe trip and be safe. Above all, enjoy Berlin!

A few questions you might want to ask:

1. Are they going to introduce an Intel Centrino2 based tablet?

2. Will they plan on producing all-in-one PC's on the order of the iMAC?

3. The future of the HDX dragon?

4. Any plans for SFF (Small form factor) PCs?

Sierra,

will there be an update to the IPAQ 210? say, with a GPS built in and a slightly bigger screen (800 x 480)

I have one question: did they lose money on the TC 400 form factor? It's the only explanation I can come up with R the discontinuance of what was probably the most loved of all the tablets in the tabletdom!

Thanks Sierra!

Feral,
I think your talking about the TC4000 I have the tc4400 and it is the best. My favorite form factor is the TC1000 series. I want an updated version of that. I cant let it die. So Sierra I would also like to learn why those to tablets died on the vine as well. HP has been my choice for over 6 years now and I would like a reason to stay. Have a blast in Berlin.

Sierra,
could you sugget them to make a slate verion of the 2710p?
As an incentive tell them they'd sell at least ONE! ;-)

I would love to see more info on how they engineer the physical attributes of their computers - keyboards, cooling, cases, etc... Often overlooked, but can make or break a computer.

I too am concerned about their customer support. The quality of the TX line seems well below standard. Please ask them if they are cutting corners or just got an unlucky run or something.

HP makes great computers, mine needed very little customer support, but the few times it did, I was very put off by customer support representatives unclear, heavily accented English and lack of technical knowledge. They even misinformed me as to what I was entitled to under my warranty, and their mistake ended up costing me a few hundred dollars. My 2005 HP pavilion is a great machine and it's still running, but when it was time to buy a Tablet PC this year, I steered clear of HP and ended up buying a Fujitsu because just dealing with customer service in the pre-sales stage was such a delight in comparison to HP.

Any plans to introduce an 8 to 10 inch tablet PC? How about the HP Mini with an active digitizer?

I'd be interested in hearing how they plan to market the fine active digitizer products they have. While I am terribly frustrated with the customer service I have received, I have to say that I do appreciate the engineering, the thought and the form factors of their products. As an owner of the TX 1000, I have to disagree with Kevin on the quality. I think the quality, price, multimedia capacity and cute form factor (down to the little remote) make the TX line right on the money for the student market. What I want to know is what kind of effort they plan to make to market them to students!

I expect a 2710p Centrino2 refresh this summer. If you could break free some details, that would be great.

Also, some feedback on the HP website: it's lame. Have them take a look at Dell's.

Travel safely.
