Five years ago today, Microsoft and their OEM partners unveiled the Tablet PC, and what a ride it has been!

A quick look around the mobility landscape, and it is easy to see the impact that Tablet PC technology has had over the years. Over the next month, we will be taking a look at the past five years from an operating system, software, hardware, and marketing perspective. We'll also be taking a look at the next five years,  laying out the challenges / opportunities that Microsoft and their OEM / ISV partners face in taking the Tablet PC to the next level in both experience and market reach. This is definitely an exciting time to be involved with Tablet PCs; however, some real challenges do lay ahead.

On Monday, Sierra will lead off our review series with a look at XP Tablet PC Edition, Vista, and how far we've come with the operating system, and where work still needs to be done. On today's podcast, Matt and I also touch on the Tablet PC anniversary, so be sure to give that a listen when it gets published.
