Isaiah: VIA's Next Processor

- Warner Crocker

VIA Technologies is starting to talk about their next evolution in their chip design called Isaiah. Glen Henry of the chip design team explains what’s up with the new 64–bit chip in this video. Here’s the takeaway from this. The Isaiah processor will have 2 to 4 times the performance but use the same power draw as the existing chipset. They also will be pin for pin compatible with the existing chips. This means that theoretically you can drop the new chip into an existing device.
