JKK Adds Touchscreen to ASUS Eee

- Sierra Modro

Jkkmobile has just posted a great video of his newly upgraded ASUS Eee. He's added the one feature that I thought the Eee was missing - a touchscreen! He claims to have added it for only about $60, which would be an amazing find. It doesn't look at all modified. I was quite impressed.

So, for the $399 for the Eee plus about $60-80 for a touchscreen kit, I can have a 7" UMPC. Do any of the major UMPC vendors hear this!?

Amazing. I wonder if the touchscreen (he says it is for automobile displays) appears to Windows as a passive digitizer device, or merely a custom mouse driver? I'm assuming the later... meaning even if he got a tablet-aware OS on there (XP-TE or Vista), inking wouldn't seem possible, would it?

inking would be fine with xp te or vista..

.. but as both are so bloated, they don't fit eee's ssd drive.
