Microsoft Rolls Out Tafiti

- Warner Crocker

Search, search, search. We all search for info. And the guys who want to make money off your searching keep cranking out new ideas and methods. Microsoft rolled out an interesting looking search mashup called Tafiti. The name means “do research” in Swahili. Using Silverlight the interface is pretty nice looking and worth looking at just for how it works. It, of course, works off of Windows Live Search, and has a very graphical approach to showing your results and dragging them to a shelf to hang on to. It also has a very intriguing (but I’m not sure how useful) Tree View that shows your results in a tree (literally a tree) the branches of which rotate around. There is a video on Channel 10 if you want to check it out and here’s the link to start using Tafiti.
