Rumor: MacBook Touch With Transparent Multi-Touch Display

- Warner Crocker

Well, we haven’t had a good Apple Tablet rumor in, oh, almost 3 days or so, so here’s one that might be fun to follow. An Apple patent application apparently is revealing a transparent multi-touch display that can work as a control surface on either side. Open it up in traditional laptop mode and you have a keyboard. Close it and you have a touch enabled slate, or so it would seem. Trendhunter Magazine is calling it the Holy Grail of Tablet Computing.

Where does all the hardware go? (Processor, HDD, battery, RAM aren't all going to fit in that little frame. Well at least not for many years.)

Besides, this just seems like the next logical step in someone's imagination from the iPhone flip that we saw mock-ups of a few days ago.

Quick, somebody Google fingerworks and Apple so that we can stop looking into the past as if it was the future.

You guys do a good job of ignoring most of the dumb rumors out there, so you get a "pass" on this one. Let's just conserve our enthusiasm for the unboxing videos of such a device. Actually, wake me up when there's a review.

im telling you, if any "cool" looking tech concept shows up online, within the week there will be a rumor out that apple is working on incorporating that tech into their devices, no matter how vapor-like the initial news item was...
