Samsung Planning a Stripped Down Educational Version of the Q1 Ultra

- Warner Crocker

Samsung-q1-ultraThis is interesting. According to Pocket-Lint, Samsung is planning to go head to head with Asus and their very successful Eee PC by creating a stripped down version of the Q1 Ultra UMPC targeted at the education sector. From what I’m reading on this at the moment this also looks targeted at the UK markets at a price point that would be £399, which is still considerably more than the Eee PC pricepoint. Of course if this ever makes it over to this side of the pond, you’re looking at quite a difference as well, given the horrendous status of the US dollar at the moment.

Probably far too early to tell, but I don’t see this being a win for Samsung.
