Sling Media bought by EchoStar

- Matt Faulkner

slingmedia1 This might normally fall outside out coverage here on GottaBeMobile.com, but since I am going to be posting up an InkShow on the SlingBox tomorrow, it is going to kind of fit.  Today, it's been announced that Sling Media has been bought by EchoStar, parent company for Dish Network.

Tomorrow I will show how the Slingbox does on a Tablet PC, UMPC and my Treo 750 - it's really cool and I was really surprised how well things worked out.  As I have Dish Network at home, it sure would be interesting if they start selling Dish boxes that can 'Sling' without the need for having a separate device attached to your TV/Network!

I agree that the Slingbox fits -- it's a great aid to mobility.

I am concerned about what will happen now that SlingMedia's being acquired, though.

I thought I read recently that MS was using Slingbox with Media Center?
