TabletKiosk announces the Sahara i440 series Tablet PC

TabletKiosk has officially announced their new slate tablet pc and boy, is it a heck of a tablet. The new i440 series offers a passive touch screen model and a new Dual Mode Active Digitizer and Touch Screen. TabletKiosk is the first to announce a Dual Mode Active / Touch slate tablet as the i440T and i440D. Click picture for higher res image.

In addition to being Dual Mode Active / Touch, the i440 series features processors ranging from 1.2 ghz Celeron ULV to 1.83 ghz Core Duo LV.

Get this, the operating system configurations are also available in Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Linux. That's right, Linux is available as well. Very good move, TabletKiosk.

  • i440T - 1.83 ghz Core Duo, Passive Touch
  • i440D - 1.83 ghz Core Duo, Dual Mode Active / Touch

Too bad, that can determine whether this is a good deal or yet another overpriced tablet pc.

My guess is more than $1,999 USD, which was the 2004-2006 common price point.
