The HP2710p and the Lenovo Thinkpad X61 Head to Head

- Warner Crocker

Head to head comparison reviews of Tablet PCs are few and far between, so when they do appear they are always worth a read. Dwight Silverman in the Houston Chronicle takes two Tablet PCs and offers a head to head comparison. Looking at Lenovo’s Thinkpad X61 and HP’s 2710p he comes away impressed with both Tablet PCs (this from someone who hasn’t actually been a big fan of Tablet PCs before.) In his comparison he found the handwriting recognition on the HP superior to the X61 and actually says the 2710p is the best Vista notebook he has seen this year. Interesting.

Funny, his review mentions what puzzles me...if they use the same handwriting recognition engine, why should their be a difference in recognition? Then again, I've noticed with each tablet pc I've had that recognition is better right out of the box then it is for me a few months later.
