Adobe Releases Beta Updates of Air 2.0 and Flash 10.1 with Multi-Touch

Adobe is releasing Beta versions of Air 2.0 and Flash 10.1 with both including support for multi-touch and gestures. The release works on Windows, Mac, and Linux. There’s more than just the multi-touch/gesture support in the releases as well. If true, the news that Air 2.0 won’t clog memory as much as the previous versions that would be an excellent thing. And depending on your hardware, Flash 10.1 is supposed to improve video playing with hardware acceleration, but reports from some quarters say this isn’t supported on Intel integrated graphics in this release. That would include a lot of netbooks and mobile orientated devices from taking advantage of that upgrade. Of course you need a multi-touch equipped device to take advantage of that as well.

You can download the beta’s here. Again, these are Beta releases. Keep that in mind.

Personally, I wish Adobe could just vanish into thin AIR, but alas that will never happen.
