Use these Alto’s Adventure tips and tricks to unlock the wingsuit, link up tricks and unlock new snowboarders in this beautiful addictive endless snowboarder game that we can’t put down.

In Alto’s Adventure you must snowboard down a mountain to collect llamas, perform stunts, avoid elders and collect coins that let you unlock upgrades and new characters with special skills.

Alto’s Adventure is $2.99 in the App Store, and it is well worth the price. There are no in-app purchases that you need to buy to enjoy the game after you buy the game on iOS. You can unlock upgrades and a wingsuit that lets you string together tricks and pull a loop de loop. If you buy the game on iPhone or iPad you also get it for Apple TV.

You can also now download Alto’s Adventure for Android. The Android app is free to download and play. Unlike the iPhone version, there are in app purchases.

Here are our favorite Alto’s Adventure tips and tricks to help you achieve your goals, unlock new players, score more points and reach new levels on your ride to the bottom of a never-ending mountain.

Focus On Your Goals

On each Alto’s Adventure level you have three goals to complete. Some of the goals must be complete in one run, while others can span multiple runs.

You can focus on a single goal, but it is better to focus on two goals that you can easily hit in a single run. Avoid trying to link up length or coin goals with double or triple backflip goals.

Focus on your goals, and only combine those that make sense.

Focus on your goals, and only combine those that make sense.

Instead make sure that you link up collecting llamas, scaring birds, surviving a rainstorm, traveling through forests, collecting coins and grinding goals.

You can link up backflip goals and point combo goals, but make sure you don’t get greedy and crash a backflip before you hit the point goal.

The game shows the current goals when you start a run, and you can pause to see the goals mid-run and to see your progress. When you achieve a goal it will flash on-screen.

Rely on Helmets, Chasm Rescue & Llama Horns

In recent updates you can now buy a Helmet or a Chasm rescue pick axe that will save you from a crash and from a chasm. You should buy these when you have spare coins so that you can keep going if you need to hit several backflip goals, a length goal and other tricky challenges. You’ll find them in the store.

You can also buy a Llama horn that will show up as you snowboard through the map. When you hit it, you will see a stampede of llamas coming at you and this can help with a llama based goal.

Trick & Grind to Speed Up

Combine tricks and grinds to score higher.

Combine tricks and grinds to score higher.

You need to complete tricks to gain speed. This is a great way to go farther in the game. Every time you land a backflip or a grind you will speed up.

If you know a ramp or a jump is coming up, and you are using a character with a fast backflip, use that to get more speed before the jump.

How to Escape Alto’s Adventure Elders

You will run into elders as you play Alto’s Adventure, and you must outrun them. IF they catch up to you the elder will knock you off your board with a club.

When an Elder is close you need to jump, pull off tricks and grind to get away.

Grind and pull tricks to speed up. These two options are best, but if you can’t do either, simply jumping will help get you a slight edge so that you can reach a place to pull a trick.

Eventually you will reach a chasm. Jump over it to escape the elder for good. Just watch out because if you keep going the elder will be back.

Save Up for the Alto’s Adventure Wingsuit

Save up and buy the wingsuit before other upgrades.

Save up and buy the wingsuit before other upgrades.

When you start earning coins, don’t use them on the cheap upgrades for the magnet or the hover feather time. Save up for the wingsuit. This is 7,500 coins, but if you play the game a lot you will be able to unlock it in about two days and by the time you hit level 15. You need the wingsuit for level 31 and level 32 goals, so make sure you get it in time.

When you have enough coins, go to the Workshop in the upper right of the home screen and purchase it.

Stay Low for Coins, Magnets & Hovers

Coins are often well below grinding opportunities, so make sure you stay low.

Coins are often well below grinding opportunities, so make sure you stay low.

Anytime you have a goal to collect coins, use a coin magnet or hover in Alto’s Adventure you should avoid grinding as much as possible.

Unless you are going over a chasm, the coins and power ups are either at snow level or off a jump into the air that you will need to be on the snow to hit.

How to Use the Alto’s Adventure Wingsuit

After you buy the Alto’s Adventure wingsuit you need to charge it up before you can use it. To do this you will need to land a lot of tricks to charge up your scarf. When you get close your scarf will be long and start to turn white. When you hit the right amount of tricks it will turn on and you can press the wingsuit button in the lower left to activate and fly. If you hold the screen like you normally would to backflip you can pull off a Loop de loop. You can also fly to the next grinding area to chain together tricks.

Time Your Jumps & Speed

Eventually you will reach a wide chasm that is tough to cross or you will get sick of missing the top big coin or a magnet and learn how to jump.

When you see a caution sign, get ready for a jump.

When you see a caution sign, get ready for a jump.

You need to build up speed before a jump by pulling off a trick or sliding on ice. If you are too slow, the best timed jumps won’t help you. Once you have some speed you need to time your jumps so that you leave the ramp before the end. It’s about finding the sweet spot in the middle of the ramp where you need to launch from.

Remember that you don’t charge up for a jump, as soon as you tap, you jump. spend a few runs just practicing getting the most air on every jump you can. After 15 minutes you’ll know when to tap, and when to wait.

Change Characters for New Options

Choose a new Alto's Adventure character to do better in the game.

As you progress through the levels you can unlock other Alto’s Adventure characters with special skills. The first is Maya, who backflips fast, but boards slow. This is an essential character for beating many of the backflip goals. After level 20 you will unlock Paz, who can board faster, but flip slower.

You can unlock other characters with unique skills as you play. Make sure you switch characters based on the goals you need to beat or your play style.

Bounce Off Rocks

Time it right to bounce off rocks in Alto's Adventure.

You can time your jumps to bounce off of a rock but landing board down on the top of a rock. This will send you sky-high again. Use this to chain together tricks and to avoid crashing. If you have trouble with the triple back flip goal, you can use a rock bounce to get the third backflip in a single jump.

Just make sure you land on top of the rock, if you are just a little too low you will crash and end the run.

Use Rock-Breaking Boom Cautiously

The boost that can break rocks ends at the worst times.

The boost that can break rocks ends at the worst times.

After you complete a grind, land a trick or slide on ice you gain a boost that can break through rocks. This is handy, but it’s not a good idea to count on it. The boost can end quickly, and it often stops just as you smash into a rock.

In the forest and other areas where your character can be behind a tree or other scenery, it is a good idea to avoid using boost to break rocks altogether.

Special Alto’s Adventure Tricks

In addition to the standard backflip you can pull off a few other cool tricks in Alto’s Adventure. If you land on the last bit of the wire that you grind you get a Kiss the Rail trick. You will need to pull this off for one of the goals.

If you perform a backflip where your head is really close to the snow you will perform a proximity backflip that earns a few extra points. If you have a hover feather you can also pull one of these off easily. Just make sure you don’t crash.

Control Screen Brightness

When you are playing the game in a night setting or in bad weather you can quickly pause the game and turn the screen brightness up. This will help you see the upcoming obstacles better.

Use the Wingsuit to Chain Tricks

When you need a high combo trick for points or for number of tricks pulled off, you will want to use the wingsuit to make this happen.

Alto’s Adventure Cheats & Hacks

If you want unlimited coins, unlimited wingsuit and the option  to buy anything you will probably look for Alto’s Adventure cheats and hacks. There are several services that claim to offer Alto’s Adventure cheats to deliver all three of these options, but they don’t check for a connection to your phone and claims that they are hacking into the Alto’s Adventure database to unlock features is also unlikely.

What do the Alto’s Adventure cheats offer? They let you fill out a survey to give your personal information to an advertiser so that the individual behind the Alto’s Adventure cheat website can earn a referral. This is a common tactic for mobile game cheats, that we have yet to see work.

In the case of the Alto’s Adventure cheats, the service claims to connect to an iPhone or Android, but no devices are connected to our computer, which is a tip-off that this will not give you unlimited Alto’s Adventure coins or a Alto’s Adventure wingsuit.

If the mission is to, Land three backflips in one run with Maya, make sure that you have Maya selected. I had Alto selected and I thought I had Maya. If you are talking about the mission I think you are, then you don’t need to do a triple backflip, but three in one game. If I’m thinking of the wrong mission, I apologise.

Look for a ramp or an ice patch leading up to a sharp drop. With the boost and a well timed jump, it’s doable. The two triples in one run took me a little bit longer.

Maya’s run just got significantly harder yesterday, it seems to me. I’ve been trying for weeks to get more than one triple flip, but yesterday she was falling at the very first usual flip possibility (just after/as she overtakes first 4 llamas), and nearly every other after that. She’s either snowboarding subtly slower or the inclines are slightly altered. As the course now is, I cannot ever hope to get past stage 20, earn many points, or look forward to playing much. I’ve stored the icon so I don’t keep hopelessly trying, wasting more time on it. It’s a consolation to be able to write about it though!

This is a tough game once you get into the late 40’s trip. I need to know about “wing-suit in between different grinds”. I different ways, but still struggling.
