Android Galaxy S Mini Launching as Galaxy Ace from Samsung

The Android-based Galaxy S Mini that we had reported on earlier will not be launching with that moniker. Instead, the miniaturized Android handset will be launching as the Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830. While not a power house, the device’s more compact size will attract users who may not need all the features from the Galaxy S series. The device will sport a 5-megapixel camera, HVGA touchscreen display, WiFi, Bluetooth, and a number of radios and sensors. For me, the Galaxy Ace looks to be a cross between the iPhone 4 and a Galaxy S.

Another unannounced handset that’s making waves from Samsung is the Samsung Galaxy Suit S5670, which appears to be more an entry level device from its appearance; the device resembles the Google Nexus One or the HTC Desire in its physical shape. Not much else is known about the Galaxy Suit, though it is speculated that the Suit may get announced in February at Mobile World Congress.
