In the first Android M release we found a hidden "System UI Tuner" tool under developer options. This let us customize the quick settings icons and add more. However, in Android M Preview 2 there is even more options.
The System UI Tuner option lets users now tweak the quick settings, notification drawer, and even the status bar. We can now set battery % levels to be shown in the status bar battery meter, hide icons (like location, WiFi, or other status bar icons you don't need shown 24/7) and much more. However, the new "Dark Theme" for the settings menu is now gone, something many were extremely excited to see in the M release. That said, in the System UI tuner we are seeing an option to "invert colors" but it doesn't work. This may let us have a dark theme for settings, but we'll have to wait and see.
