Apple OS X Speech Reco compared to Vista Speech Reco

Published

on

CrunchGear has done a comparison of Apple’s Speech Recognition to Vista’s new Speech Recognition and comes away impressed.

Bottomline: “Voice recognition in OS X is an afterthought at best and cripple-ware at worst . I’m not big on voice recognition, but I do know when someone has gotten it right.”

I have not been a big user of speech recognition in the past, but these improvements in Vista are certainly causing me to take a fresh look at how I could use speech recognition in my day to day routine. Certainly, given the flexibility of the Tablet PC and the needs of a mobile professional, speech recognition is an obvious fit.

Any readers using Vista’s new speech reco with their Tablet PC want to pipe in on how they are using it?
