Asus Transformer Pad 300 Jelly Bean Update Starts to Roll Out

It appears that Asus has started to roll out the Transformer Pad 300 Jelly Bean update to owners though it’s unclear just how widespread the update is.

According to Android Central, Transformer Pad 300 owners have begun to see the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update, just a short time after Asus promised Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for three of its tablet devices in the “coming months”. Asus confirmed the roll out for the ASUS Transformer Pad 300, ASUS Transformer Pad Prime and ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity and it would appear that the Transformer Pad 300 is the first to get the software.

It appears though that some owners have yet to see the update so it looks like it’s rolling out Over-the-Air. Those who own the tablet will want to head into the device’s settings to see if the Jelly Bean update has arrived.

The Transformer Pad 300 has reportedly started to receive Jelly Bean.

Asus doesn’t seem to have confirmed anything as of yet so it’s unclear just how many regions are seeing this update and how long the update will take to complete its roll out.

At this point, it doesn’t look like owners can simply pull the update. Instead, Asus is likely rolling out the update to select devices. That could change in the coming days though.

The update, when it arrives, will take users from Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Android 4.1 is a significant upgrade over Android 4.0 ICS and it will bring a number of new features to the table.

We imagine it will also bring some bug fixes and enhancements along as well.

Included in Android 4.1 is a new smoother user interface, a new Notification system, an improved keyboard, more camera features, and more. All in all, it’s a pretty big step from Android 4.0.

As for Asus, it has been extremely diligent about getting major updates out to its device owners and it appears that it will be keeping the same policy with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

In fact, it appears that the company has even beaten the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S 4G to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, two devices that were thought to be getting the updates before non-Nexus devices.

In any event, Transformer Pad 300 owners should be ecstatic that Jelly Bean is here and those who wish to make the upgrade should definitely check and see if it’s available.
