AT&T Reveals 12 Upcoming 4G LTE Markets

Published

on

Yes, the 4G LTE iPad is coming to AT&T’s next generation network. Problem is, the carrier’s coverage pales in comparison to Verizon’s. As of right now, AT&T is home to around 30 4G LTE markets in and around the continental United States. Well, in an effort to change that, Ma Bell is going to be expanding its network in the months ahead announcing a dozen new markets that will be lit up with 4G LTE.

Now, these launches won’t happen overnight.

They are going to be taking place throughout March, April, May, and then on to summer. Still though, they will likely give those thinking about picking up a 4G LTE enabled iPad in these markets peace of mind.

AT&T Reveals 12 Upcoming 4G LTE Markets

So who’s getting it?

Here’s the full rundown:

  • Cleveland, Ohio
  • Akron, Ohio
  • Canton, Ohio
  • Naples, Fla.
  • Bloomoington, Ind.
  • Lafayette, Ind.
  • Muncie, Ind.
  • Baton Rouge, La.
  • New Orleans
  • St. Louis
  • Bryan/College Station, Texas
  • Staten Island, N.Y.

AT&T says that Cleveland will be getting lit up with 4G LTE soon while the rest of those markets will see the high-speed cellular network arrive in the months ahead. We also fully expect AT&T to announce more markets as we approach the summer months.

And while the new iPad and the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S III – which will presumably land on AT&T’s network – are the most intriguing devices, AT&T does have a few enticing options already.

The Samsung Galaxy Note, the 5.3-inch hybrid device is certainly a phone to take a look at as is the upcoming HTC One X, which unfortunately, doesn’t yet have an official release date.
