Averatec UMPC Info available!

Averatec is apparently entering the UMPC market. In this news item from onlyumpc.com, they are talking about the “AHI” by Averatec. here is the list of features being touted:

• Powered by INTEL Celeron ULV
• 512 MB of memroy
• 30 GB Storage Capacity
• 18.6 X 9.0 X 3.3 cm – 730g
• Wow 6 hours of battery life
• Touch Screen – 5?
• Runs Windows XP – what happened to the Tablet OS?
• Optional GPS and 3G add-ons
• Wifi, 2 USB 2.0 , Ethernet , Modem
• Built-in sliding keyboard.
• looks like it has a camera too

Not sure about these specs, but they certainly look nice. 5 hours with a Celeron processor? Hmmm, We should probably question that one. Also it says it will run Windows XP, not Tablet OS. There should be no reason to not run the Tablet Edition. Nice looking machine though! The sliding keyboard looks nice, but only a 5″ screen would be an issue.

We’ll wait and see!
