Basketball Kings Tips and Tricks

A new sports game has just recently hit the iPhone, and it’s called Basketball Kings. It arrives just as the NBA season is getting closer to the end of the regular season with hopes that basketball fans will become addicted to the arcade shooting mobile game.

Basketball Kings is a very simple game, as you merely just swipe up to have your player shoot the ball into the net, but there are different game modes that you can enjoy, such as Time Attack and even Tournament mode, where levels get progressively harder as you complete them.

Basketball Kings is available for both iPhone and Android devices as a free download in the iTunes App Store and Google Play, respectively. But before you get in on the action, here are a few tips and tricks that you can follow in order to get the best score at the end and move on to more challenging levels.

Be Precise with Your Swipe

While the only skill in Basketball Kings is swiping up, the game’s tutorial isn’t very detailed as far as how to swipe up correctly. I followed the tutorial and discovered that I was barely sinking any basketballs. However, after adjusting my swipe and trying some new things, I discovered you can pretty much make every basket by swiping in a particular fashion.

Instead of flick-swiping (quickly swiping and flicking your finger to finish the swipe), simply just swipe up in a constant motion and then immediately stop where you want to end the swipe. Furthermore, it’s crucial as far as where you start and end your swipe.

You get the best results when you start your swipe where the basketball is located in the shooter’s hand. Then finish the swipe right when the fill bar on the left turns green and reaches the the arrow; this usually means you’ll finish your swipe just above the basketball rim. If you swipe like this, most of your baskets will be flawless.

Be Quick

Basketball Kings uses a timer in most of the game modes, including Time Attack (obviously) and Tournament mode. This means that you have to be relatively quick with each shot and the next, so here’s a quick tip that you can use (see what I did there?).

When the shooter shoots a basketball, you’ll see him go off to the side to grab another basketball and will set up his shot soon after. Usually, you’d think that you wouldn’t be able start swiping up until the player is set for the shot, but you can actually swipe up before he’s ready to even shoot. This might be a small bug in the game, but this allows you to get more shots in before the time runs out.

Have Fun

Of course, the most important tip for Basketball Kings is to have fun and don’t get too addicted to it. The way Tournament mode is set up allows gamers to go as far as they can and rack up as many points as possible.

It can be addicting to try and get the highest score possible, and we don’t blame you. However, don’t expect the game to make you a better basketball player in other games, though. After all, it’s only a swipe up.
