Best Big Android Smartphones (2017)

HTC U Ultra

The first flagship smartphone announced for 2017 happens to be the HTC U Ultra. Although it's not yet available but should be soon. This one is a bit of a toss-up, because it has 2016 specs in a device made for 2017 that will try to compete with the Galaxy S8. More details on it can be found here

Still, if you want a big Android smartphone this will be one worth considering. It has a beautiful design that could only be offered by a company like HTC, and a big 5.7-inch display. Then, similar to LG they added the same 2-inch secondary screen on the top. Making for one big phone with a lot of options. Here's the full spec sheet.

HTC U Ultra Specs

  • 5.7-inch 2560 x 1440 Quad-HD IPS Display
  • Secondary 2-inch “Ticker” Screen on top (Similar to the LG V10 & V20)
  • Quad-Core Snapdragon 821 Processor with 4GB of RAM
  • 64GB Internal Storage and Micro-SD Support
  • Android 7.0 Nougat
  • 12 Megapixel Camera with Phase Detection AF, Image Stabilization, more
  • 16 UltraPixel Front Camera for Selfies
  • USB Type-C for Charging
  • No 3.5mm headphone jack
  • 3,000 mAh Battery with Quick Charging

You get features similar to the LG V20 with a slightly better processor, a pretty good camera experience, but an even smaller battery. When comparing this to the others on our list, you see why we're suggesting the Mate 9 first and foremost. However, some love HTC, and this will be a good phone when it's released.

One problem is you can't buy it yet. And when it's finally available in late March or April, the LG G6 and Galaxy S8 will be right around the corner. Two phones with huge screens and tiny bezels. Meaning you'll get more screen in a smaller package, and probably won't be too happy you bought the U Ultra. Keep that in mind. The more you know, the better you'll be.
