Best Buy Matches Walmart Black Friday iPad mini Deal Online (Updated)

Published

on

The Walmart Black Friday 2013 doorbuster headline is an iPad mini for $299 with a $100 gift card bonus that drops the price to $199.

This is a great deal at Walmart and guaranteed in stock, but you still need to brave the shopping day and give up Thanksgiving to get the deal.

Today Best Buy announced that it is matching this iPad mini Black Friday 2013 deal with a limited time online promotion that is available in stores and online.

Update: Available in stores as well as online.

Shoppers can only choose the 16GB iPad mini, and it is not the newest iPad mini with Retina Display, but it is still an amazing deal.

Best Buy matches the Walmart Black Friday iPad mini deal — and it’s online.

The Best Buy online iPad mini gift card deal is sold out right now, but the Best Buy Support Twitter account offers hope that there will be more stock available later today, telling Gotta Be Mobile to check back on that page regularly.

Shoppers can order online and in store today, Wednesday November 27th. The offer is sold out online right now, but it will also be available online Thursday so stock should come back for the web. (Thanks Ryan D.)

The Best Buy Black Friday deals are live with a $100 gift card with the purchase of an iPad mini.

This is the latest example of Black Friday price matching. The Walmart Black Friday 2013 deals started last Friday as the retailer offered deals similar to those Best Buy, Target and others plan to sell on Thanksgiving and Black Friday. With this latest move, Best Buy is striking back, and we expect to see more competition for deals.

Amazon, Target, Best Buy and Walmart are all competing for Black Friday shopping dollars and we could see many flash sales and last minutes specials that offer these deals to shoppers online yet today. The deals will heat up on Thanksgiving, and may include a variety of last-minute sales that shoppers should be ready to buy from their phone or tablet if they are already in line.

The iPad mini includes a 7.9-inch display, Apple A5 processor and 16GB of storage. This model comes in silver, space gray and black, depending on what Best Buy has in stock. We will update this post if we see the iPad mini come back in stock.

I received an email from Best Buy that said this promo was good in-store and online today only. Also, I was able to order online and choose in-store pick up and the $100 gift card was included in my order. Thanks.

Bought mine in store when it opened today and they had plenty available. $100 gift card as well. The woman at the Best Buy 800# told me they were sold out in stores and online before the store even opened today and it is just simply untrue.

Called the #800 number as well and was also told they are soldout. Called my local store and they have plenty in stock.

I bougt 2, and wanted to pick up at the store, I received confirmation, etc. I received two emails that my item is NO LONGER available for pickup and to contact 888-best-buy. I was on the phone for nearly an hour. They did not expect this at all and have NO answers. I received a case number and was told they would get back with me. They are out in all the stores in the St. Louis metro area. I don’t understand the confusion, but none are available in our local area at stores. They truly suck right now!!!

your link to their website with the offer is not working. I realize they are out of stock online, but……the link to use, should they become available, is not working. Thanks!!

Best Buy has taken down the link and is taking a lot of heat on Facebook for this botched promo!

I placed my order about 6AM, as soon as I got the email. 7 hours later I get an email stating that it was not available at the selected store. I call customer service, was on hold for 10 minutes. I get an agent who I can hear fine. She asked what I had purchased, and after telling her, she said she had a problem with her line and would need to transfer me to another agent (without asking if it was ok) meaning she put me back out in queue. Another 7 to 10 minute wait, and its a RONA, meaning it rang to an agent, but it was not answered. Meaning back out in queue. Another 7 to 10 minute wait. I get a really rude guy, asked me what I had purchased. “Sorry it’s sold out” I gave up, “Fine, cancel it. You obviously wasnt prepared for this”. Now I not only have a pending charge for the ipad and free 100 gift card, my bank account and BB acount shows a pending transcation for a 100.00 gift card

I ordered mine at 8:30 this morning. The email said they would let me know within 45 minutes when I could pick it up. Hours go by and I got an email at 5:15 saying the item was not availble for store pick-up but I had options… I could find it at another store or have it shipped but I needed to call 888-BESTBUY. I called and waited about 20 minutes to talk to a rep who told me they would send the item to me Express mail. However the delivery date is Dec 9-18. That tells me they don’t currently have the stock but they are honoring the purchases that made it thorough before they “sold out”

pad Mini Deal to beat Wal Mart? No , more like Ipad Blunder!!

They let people walk into stores and buy the ipad mini’s that folks had already reserved and paid for online with store pickup! After waiting 8 hours for my Pickup email, I got the “unavailable” one instead…I refuse to spend…ANY money at Best Buy this holiday season. My Ipad Mini story from today is below!

………I ordered mine online at 7:30AM, when it was “in stock” and I could pick it up at the store. The store opens at 10AM here, and I was waiting for my “ready for pickup” email. IT NEVER CAME!!! I went into the store at 420PM only to be told that I cannot pick it up and have to wait for my email. Low and behold, I went to the parking lot, checked my email, and got the “Item unavailable for pickup”. I went back inside and was told that means they don’t have any, and Im out of luck. Yet, they allowed people in the store at opening to purchase them, even tho mine should’ve been reserved. Then when I said I wanted my Best Buy credit card refunded, the lady had the nerve to tell me I have to call from home on their 1-888 number. REALLY?? Im in your store, and I have to go home and take care of your screw up!!

btw- the tech that canceled my order stated he couldn’t give me details but that they were having issues with the online site all day, and it had glitches going on. I also told him its illegal here in WI to sell and charge me for something you don’t even have in stock, he smugly stated that technically I wasn’t charged because it was never picked up.

BOTTOM LINE…….I have had it with Best Buys horrible customer service, I will not spend one cent in any of their stores this holiday season! The store employees treat you like crap at the first sign you are not a happy customer, they don’t care about the customer…period. Best Buy corporate is so into putting stores inside of stores ( windows and google experience) that they could care less about teaching and practicing customer service.

I use to love shopping at Best Buy, but after so many years of horrible service, id rather spend a little more and go elsewhere.

Best Buy will decline because of these constant customer service issues, and will be just like Circuit City…..GONE

Your story is identical to mine only I didn’t go to the store. I called and was told they had no idea how I was sold, confirmed and charged for an item they didn’t have. This is the last attemt to purchase anything from best buy!

Hi, do you have any update on when the ipad mini deal will be available on bestbuy?

Anyone still have the email from best buy advertising the promotion? I don’t recall seeing anything limiting the number of gift card per customer. I successfully ordered two minis and received the order confirmation email then the shipment email. Shortly after I received an email that one gift card shipped and when I reviewed my order email it also showed only one gift card. I cannot find the email that I received Wednesday morning anywhere and I want to review the fine print again.
