HP Stream 11 - $199.99
The HP Stream 11 goes in a different direction than most of the laptops in this roundup. It’s not made for gamers. It’s not made for business and power users either. The HP Stream 11 is the culmination of Microsoft’s work with partners to offer an alternative to Chromebooks.
It comes with 4GB of RAM and a 1.6 GHz Intel Celeron processor inside. Its screen measures just 11.6-inches from corner to corner. Those are the things that make it a terrific PC for casual users and young tech enthusiasts. There’s only 32GB of storage but users can add more with the built-in SD card slot. 1 USB Type-C, USB 2.0 port and HDMI port are built in as well. There’s a small VGA camera for video chatting.
The 11.6-inch high-definition display would normally be too large to qualify for Microsoft’s free Office 365 Personal offering, but HP includes it anyway. This means Word, Excel and PowerPoint are free for a year after you make your purchase. The HP Stream 11 costs just $189.99.
