Best Philips Hue iPhone Apps

Published

The official Philips Hue app isn’t all that great, but here are some of the best Philips Hue iPhone apps that you should check out instead.

When you first get Philips Hue light bulbs, the official app is necessary for setting up the kit and getting started. However, the app doesn’t do a very good job of giving you a nice user interface for managing and controlling your lights once you have them set up.

Luckily, Philips has opened up its software development kit to third-party app developers, allowing them to create apps that can also control and manage your Hue lights. This obviously created an influx of all sorts of Philips Hue apps, making it a bit difficult to sift through them and find the ones that are actually worth using.

Luckily, we’re here to provide you with only the best Philips Hue apps that we personally find interesting and useful.

Some of these apps allow you to do some pretty cool things with your Hue lights, while others simply just make it easier to control and manage your lights using a better user interface.

Without further ado, here are the best Philips Hue iPhone apps that you should check out right now.

If you want a simple and easy-to-use app to control and manage your Philips Hue lights, then Huemote is one that I recommend.

It's not the best-looking app by any means, and if anything, it's kind of ugly, but it's really simple to use. I found it to be the best management app for my Philips Hue lights by far.

You can turn on and off individual lights or group them together and control them that way. You can also easily dim lights by sliding horizontally across the light bar that highlights the bulb or group. Plus, tapping on a light or a group will bring up the color selector.

Craig, nice reviews, but I don’t see whether these apps can be used with Androids. And, don’t suggest that I buy an iPhone, not flexible enough for me.
