Over the years we’ve seen the Assassin’s Creed series grow in some interesting ways. For the last two years, we’ve got to experience what it’s like to journey around the new world. Last year we went looking for buried treasure in the Caribbean in Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. The year before we got a look at colonial America and some of our most high-profile founders in Assassin’s Creed 3.

In Assassin’s Creed Unity we’re dumping the New World for the old one we’ve all admired in the game’s distant past. Assassin’s Creed Unity takes place in France around the time that regular French citizens are taking matters into their own hands, storming the Bastille and beheading anything and everything that used to have a crown on its head and money in its pockets. Besides the new location and new assassin Arno, Assassin’s Creed Unity players can look forward to tons of new game mechanics. A new cooperative system allows players to build a customized version of Arno that compliments their friend’s strengths. For the first time we’ll see gamers move inside and outside of different locations without loading screens. There are tons of new weapons and dynamic missions to use those weapons in too.

Assassin’s Creed Unity arrives on the Xbox One on November 11th.
