Big K-Mart Xbox One Price Cut Leaked?

Holiday shoppers can expect to pick up Microsoft’s current generation entertainment console for just $350, if a leaked K-Mart scan showing an Xbox One price cut is to be believed.

An image of an upcoming K-Mart ad posted by Twitter member thebiglouie revealed what could be the first major Xbox One price cut of the holiday season.

The ad shows an Xbox One bundle that doesn’t include a Kinect 2 sensor on sale for just $349.99. For reference, the Xbox One without a Kinect 2 sensor normally costs $399 before any games or accessories.

Though not officially an Xbox One price cut in the sense that Microsoft is universally lowing the price, the Xbox One deal seems to be the best we’ve seen since the console debuted. The only fine print on the page about the deal indicates that people trying to take advantage of this price cut at K-Mart shouldn’t expect the console to be available at all stores. The ad does indicate that whoever purchases an Xbox One and a game get $60 in points to be used on K-Mart member deals. That’s completely separate from the Xbox One price cut though.

Allegedly, the price cut will be effective as of November 9th and that entire week, at least. It doesn’t appear as if K-Mart is slashing the price of Xbox One consoles across the board. There’s no mention of the Xbox One + Kinect bundle that normally costs $499.

Though pictured with the console, noting else seems to be getting a price-cut except the basic Xbox One bundle, a separate Xbox One controller and a headset. Those who purchase the Xbox One and a controller will save $20 off the price of the price of the extra controller. Normally, a wireless Xbox One controller costs $69.99.

Independently, the Xbox One Stereo Headset will be available for $69.99. Its normal price at Amazon is $79.99.

Besides being the first price cut for the console we’ve seen, this deal is well-timed. November 9th, isn’t just any week, it’s the Sunday before many of he most high-profile games for the Xbox One launch. The following Tuesday, the massive collection of Halo related content that is Halo: The Master Chief Collection arrives on store shelves and online. On that same day Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Unity launches. The Master Chief Collection isn’t being included with an Xbox One console, but Assassin’s Creed Unity will come in a bundle. Whether this Xbox One deal will cover the base Xbox One bundles that include different games like Madden NFL 15, Sunset Overdrive and Assassin’s Creed Unity remains unclear too. We’ll also have to see if other stores match K-Mart’s pricing.

It’s hard not to imagine that a $350 Xbox One price cut wouldn’t boost sales of the Xbox One by a large margin. Microsoft said that it saw a huge spike in sales after it introduced the $399 Xbox One this past summer. Originally, there was only one version of the Xbox One. It included the Kinect 2 sensor and cost $499 without a game. Clearly, potential Xbox One buyers are getting a better deal than folks who purchased an Xbox One did last year.

Every Xbox One console comes with the essentials users need to get started. Inside the box is an HDMI cable, power cable, chat headset, wireless controller, one set of AA batteries for that wireless controller and the console itself. Anyone expects to play online with other people will also need a subscription to Xbox Live. Those cost $60 a year or $9.99 a month, but aren’t required for download apps like Netflix or Hulu Plus. The Kinect 2 sensor, which allows users to play motion games without a controller, control their television and place video phone calls over Skype, can be purchased separately for $150, but that’ll erase any savings users get.
