BlackBerry Bold 9900 Now Available in U.K.

Published

BlackBerry Bold 9900RIM is a Canadian company so it was no surprise that Canadian carriers Bell, Telus and Rogers were the first to get RIM’s latest and greatest BlackBerry device, the BlackBerry Bold 9900. However, we know that the latest Bold won’t just be limited to the Canadian borders and will be launching worldwide over the course of the next few months.

And today, it has reached the shores of the United Kingdom as Vodafone has announced that it is now available on its network even after it’s pre-order page stated that it wouldn’t be available until August 16th. Four days early is nice in the world of smartphones, believe me.

Here is how the pricing breaks down. The device is free on a 24 month contract that will cost £41 a month. If you want a shorter contract, be prepared to pay more as the Bold 9900 costs £399 on a £20.50 a per month plan, £299 on a £26/mo, £199 for £31/mo, or £99 for £36/mo. I really wish the carriers in the United States offered up this kind of flexibility. A guy can dream.

For those of you in the U.K. that are interested, you can find RIM’s latest BlackBerry available on Vodafone right here.

As for release dates in the United States, we’re hearing late August for the Bold 9900 launch on T-Mobile and August 21st for the Bold 9930’s launch on Sprint. It’s looking like Sprint has lost its mind because it will likely be charging $250 on-contract.

Bollocks.
