Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Beta Specialists

Here is a Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 beta specialists breakdown so you know which specialist to choose when you start a match and what their special features can do. After we walk through eight Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 beta specialists in the videos we’ll show you why the choice matters so much.

At the start of the match you need to choose either the ability or the weapon for that game. You cannot go into the match with both.

Ruin & Outrider

In the video above Ruin is outfitted for close quarters battle where his Gravity Spikes can do a lot of damage and Overdrive can power him from one spot on the map to the next in a hurry. Use Overdrive to get to the objective first and to track down fleeing enemies.

Outrider includes a Vision Pulse ability that can ping the map to highlight where all the enemies are even when hiding behind cover. This only works for a short time, so use it wisely. Outrider’s weapon is the Sparrow. This compound bow delivers more force the longer you draw the string back and the bolt explodes.

Prophet & Battery

Prophet can use a Glitch ability to quickly switch back to a previous location. This teleport moves you back a few seconds in time to escape a bad situation. His weapon is the Tempest. This is an electrical weapon that can chain from one enemy to the next to take out multiple foes in one shot.

Battery wears a layer of kinetic armor that repels enemy bullets when activated. Her weapon, War Machine, shoots bouncing explosive charges that detonate on a timed fuse or on contact with the bad guys.

Seraph & Nomad

Seraph carries the Annihilator — a revolver capable of one-shot kills with a limited amount of ammo and a somewhat slow cycle time between shots. Combat Focus is her special skill that delivers a bonus toward scorestreaks and rewards.

Nomad uses Rejack to recover from death and respawn right where you died so you can seek revenge, complete an objective or just annoy your enemies. The Hive weapon shoots traps full of nano drones that can kill an enemy quickly without Nomad sticking around to see the action.

Reaper

Reaper can summon the Scythe – a deadly arm replacement quad-barrel mini-gun that can cut the enemy to pieces. The Psychosis ability can deploy three decoys to trick your opponents into revealing themselves or distract them from your deadly arrival.

Why Black Ops 3 Specialists Matter

In the reveal of the professional Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 eSports modes the commentators do an amazing job of summarizing how the specialist classes that the pro-gamers choose match to the play style and type of game. Some specialists are better suited for run and gun slaying, while others work best for objective based modes and players.

The video above is lengthy, but you’ll pick up on some more information about the specialists, how their weapons and special skills work and when to choose specific options.
