Camera+, the popular third-party camera app is now available on the iPad as well as the iPhone.

The new Camera+ for iPad is available in the App Store for a special introductory price of $0.99. The new app gives iPad users tools to make their photos look better. The new app has the same Clarity filter as the iPhone app as well as all the other effects and filters.

New to the iPad app are brush on effects which let users use their finger where they want to apply effects. Like most photo editing apps the users can control the size, softness, and intensity of each brush they use on their photos.

The iPad app also lets users layer effects on top of each other. Users can control the intensity of each layer and switch the order at will. The do the same on the iPhone would require applying a filter, saving the photo, then applying another filer on the new photo.

Other new iPad features include the ability to straighten photos and a number of advanced adjustments. Those advanced adjustments include white balance, exposure, brightness, contrast, saturation, red-eye removal, and sharpness.

The final big improvement is iCloud syncing. The iPad Camera+ app will sync its Lightbox (the app’s own camera roll) with the Lightbox in the iPhone app using iCloud. That means users can shoot photos on their iPhone then edit them on the larger iPad screen.

iCloud syncing is also a feature in the new version of Camera+ for iPhone which is also on sale for $0.99. The iPhone app now supports the iPhone 5 with a new interface that looks a lot like the default camera app. The new iPhone app also adds one-touch Facebook integration to work with the Facebook integration of iOS 6.

We still dislike the idea of using an iPad to shoot photos on a regular basis, but Camera+ for the iPad is better than the default camera, and it’s a great companion for the iPhone app.
