Cameras coming to iPods?

Published

on

TechCrunch is reporting that Apple has ordered up a massive number of cameras like the ones used in the iPhone, which means either they’re stocking up to sell way more iPhones or they’re going to incorporate those cameras into other devices, namely the iPods. Fueling the latter rumor are photos at MacRumors showing new iPod cases with camera ports.

If this pans out, it’s good news for me. One, I previously made a prediction that “…I think the touch is due for some upgrades, specifically a camera and GPS.” GPS might not be on the way (maybe not necessary thanks to geotagging via wifi), but it looks like that camera is. I’m no good at predicting “when,” but my average on calling the “what” is decent. And two, I’ve been telling everyone I know to hold off on getting an iPod until this year’s models are introduced, so this should keep those minds at ease about listening to me.

For your sake I hope you are right. I’ve been waiting for this for two years!

If not I will hold you personally responsible.

Of course your predictions are usually spot on.

Why not GPS on the Touch. How cool, music, video, games, web and then GPS navigation on the Touch.

It would make an excellent product, and I am sure a great many people would buy.

I agree the camera and video would be an excellent enhancement to the Touch.

    What about an MircoSD slot?
