The Chicago Cubs are in the playoffs for the first time since 2008 and are in the NLCS for the first time since 2003. However, the club is mostly looking forward to a World Series victory, which they haven’t gotten since 1908.

The Cubs have a stacked lineup of young talent that has been unstoppable during the postseason so far. Starting pitcher Jake Arrieta leads the rotation, with hitters Anthony Rizzo, Khris Bryant, and Kyle Schwarber being unstoppable forces for the North Siders.

As for the Mets, they haven’t been in the playoffs since 2006, and their last World Series victory was in 1986. While the team’s drought isn’t quite as bad as the Cubs, New York’s other team is still hungry for a World Series victory.

The Mets have a killer of a rotation with Jacob deGrom, Matt Harvey, Steven Matz, Bartolo Colon, and Noah Syndergaard. The team also has a good mix of young talent and veterans that are mixing well. Curtis Granderson leads the Mets with the best batting average and most RBIs during the postseason, and Daniel Murphy leads the NL in home runs during the postseason.

Pretty much the best and only want to watch the Cubs vs Mets is by using MLB.TV, which is a really great streaming service that lets you watch any and all games during the regular season.

There are blackout restrictions that you have to deal with, and there are even more restrictions during the postseason. While you can watch all NLCS games on MLB.TV, you need a cable subscription in order to stream them. It seems counter-productive, since if you already have cable, you’ll just watch them on your TV, but if you’ll be away from home and can’t get near a television, then you’ll want to watch the games on a mobile device, which is where the cable subscription comes in handy.

However, an MLB.TV Premium subscription is only $9.99 for the remainder of the MLB playoffs, and that price will also give you access to all of next year’s Spring Training games, if pre-season is your thing.

The problem with all of this is that if you don’t have a cable subscription, then you’re pretty much out of luck and will need to find a bar where they’re playing the game, and even then you might just want to watch in the privacy of your own company.

The good news is that you’re not completely out of luck. By using a service called a VPN, you can bypass MLB.TV’s restrictions and watch all of the postseason baseball you want.

A VPN essentially tells websites and other services that you’re located in a region that you’re not actually currently located in, so since MLB has restrictions on US and Canadian users, I can use a VPN to tell MLB.TV that I’m in the UK, when I’m really not.

My favorite VPN service is Unblock-Us, which unfortunately doesn’t work with iOS devices when it comes to MLB.TV, but it works great for the PS4, Apple TV, and in any web browser on any computer. It costs about $5 per month, which combined with MLB.TV Premium, is still way cheaper than cable.
