De-Glossify Your Shiny Gadgets

Published

on

Glossy gadgets sure look good on store shelves and in photo shoots, but things get messy once users get their grimy hands on them. Jason Fitzpatrick of Lifehacker offers a simple, yet effective solution. Simply take a scour pad (or fine frit sandpaper) and rub that mirror finish away. In no time you’ll have a nice matte finish that won’t reflect much light or attract finger prints. This will of course void your warranty and cut down on your chances of ever selling your gadgets on eBay.

Jason gave his Eee PC a scour pad rub down and it looks like he did a good job. I may have to borrow this idea for a couple of my own devices.

I really want to try it but I just don’t have the stones… Mine would probably look like I dropped it out of a moving car or something.

Dude, that comment is either uncool or hilarious or both (or purely coincidental if you are unaware that just happened to Warner). I’m currently leaning towards both as my reaction is simultaneous cringing and laughing.
