Droid Incredible 2 Hands On and First Impressions (Video)

The Droid Incredible 2 is a followup to the vastly popular Droid Incredible. The Droid Incredible 2 has to match the original on many points and improve on others in order to give the Incredible owners a reason to upgrade, especially since there is no 4G connectivity on the Incredible 2.

We will be posting a full review of the Droid Incredible 2 shortly, but wanted to give you our first impressions and a video tour of the latest 3G Android device to arrive at Verizon.

Droid Incredible 2 Hands On

The HTC Incredible 2 has a 4″ display, up from the 3.7″ display found on the original Incredible. This display is smaller than you will find on the HTC Thunderbolt, but in our initial comparisons, the size of the display is a good fit for the phone, which is noticeably smaller and lighter. It is nice to see a wide range of form factors and screen sizes on Android phones. Personally I still like the large 4.3″ display, but the bump up to 4″ was a welcome change and doesn’t add significantly to the bulk.

One of the other changes is the speed boost that comes from a single core Snapdragon processor, just like the one found in the HTC Thunderbolt. In our day of usage it seems very snappy and responsive. It isn’t a dual core unlike the Droid Bionic which is expected later this year, but it is capable and likely fast enough for many users.

Droid Incredible 2 First Impressions

The phone has a more plastic feel than other devices we have used, but the overall build and design appear solid and well thought out. We do like that the phone fits nicely into your hand and is easy to grip. The back of the Incredible 2 has a very similar look and feel to the original incredible which makes the phone look and feel slimmer than it actually is.

The Droid Incredible 2 is available from Verizon now for $199. We expect to have a full review of the device up shortly.
