The Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX Jelly Bean updates are rolling out slowly to users who are part of the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean soak test.

Even as Motorola confirmed plans to complete the roll out by the end of March, this is a good sign that the updates will soon hit all users.

The Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX Jelly Bean update bumps the system version up to 98.72.16.XT912.Verizon.en.US and delivers a collection of exciting Jelly Bean features to users. We are still waiting to see an update to the DroiD RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX update support page on Verizon, which normally happens shortly before the OTSA update rolls out to the general public.

The Jelly Bean update for the Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX includes Google Now, which often knows what you need before you know you need it based on your Google data. Google Now also allows users to use voice commands similar to Siri on the iPhone.

In addition to Google Now, users should see speed improvements on the Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX thanks to Project Butter. This upgrade brings speed improvements throughout the system. It’s not often that updates hit a year-old phone and bring speed improvements.

According to the Motorola Android 4.1.2 changelog, the update also removes many of the Motorola apps and replaces them with stock Google Apps. The update also reportedly improves camera image quality and much more.

I got the update today………so far so good except my voice commands no longer work the way they did………before I could hold down the search key for a few seconds, a voice command box would come up and I could say “text Sara….Meet me at 4.” and it would show me the text, hit send and done……now when I hold down the search key…..I get google search and that’s it, no more voice commands to make a call or anything……how do I fix this, I really relied on this for hands free when driving and such…….

I got the update last week 3/14/13 and am having problems using my Bluetooth headset to get calls through.
When I use my Bluetooth I now get the “Google Voice Dialer”. The original Motorola Voice Dialer called “Voice Commands” which (I guess) was the default is still in my Apps and I can use it manually but I can’t get it to be the default without causing problems with Text and e-mail. The original Voice Dialer said, “Please say a command” and then said, “Did you say…Call…Bill…Mobile One?” I then had a choice to say, ”Yes” or “No”. The Google Voice Dialer says, “Speak now” then immediately dials whatever contact it thinks I requested. So far, it has not correctly interpreted any of my contacts and what is worse is it dials them without confirming with me. I can go into the “Manage apps” and disable “Google Search” and that disables the “Google Voice Dialer” and allows “Voice Commands” to be the default but I then lose the microphone on the keyboard when I try to use Text or e-mail. I’ve read on other sites that others are having the same problems. Any suggestions?
