Easy Screen Captures Coming to Android Via Ice Cream Sandwich

We’re just a little ways away before Samsung and Google are speculated to release a new smartphone and debut the next-generation Android operating system known as Ice Cream Sandwich. With Ice Cream Sandwich being some hours away, there’s been speculation that the new OS will bring with it native photo editing features, and now we’re hearing that the delectable frozen dessert will also bring with it the ability to easily capture screenshots.

In the past, users who wanted to capture what’s on their screens on their smartphones had to rely on their handset manufacturers to implement an easy way–like what’s been found on Samsung’s TouchWiz-enabled handsets–or to root their devices and install an app to capture their screens.

With Ice Cream Sandwich, Android Police is reporting that the ability to capture screenshots will be built into the Android OS. All a user needs to do is press the volume down and power button simultaneously.
