Companions will periodically pick up items during your journey. It's not frequent but I've had it happen several times already. You'll want to periodically check their inventory to clear it out for more loot and to grab whatever they picked up. It could prove useful if you're low on caps or if you're looking for material to use to craft a weapon mod or a piece of a settlement. | |||||||||
